Shaq Lost a Bet to Dwyane Wade and Bravely Revealed His Hairline on National TV

In the sports world, your hair is a big deal. Many football players, baseball stars, and basketball legends are not only known for their talent in their respective fields but also for their signature hairstyles. With the whole world watching them, they make sure that their ‘dos are as fresh as can be, and they often add some extra flair into the mix if they’re looking to really make a statement. In a new turn of events, though, Shaq has since revealed his real hairline to the world and it’s taken many by surprise.

Keeping Things Smooth

While some sports stars are known for their larger-than-life hairstyles, Shaquille O’Neal has almost always been known for his shaved head. Although he used to rock a small amount of hair atop his head, in recent years, he has embraced all things smooth with his bald look. That’s how everyone knows him, and that’s how everyone sees him when he appears on our screens as a sports analyst. That all changed in March 2020, though.

Losing a Bet

It’s since been noted that Shaq didn’t exactly shave his head by choice all those years ago. Instead of dealing with his receding hairline and his eventual balding, he decided to jump ahead of nature and shave it himself. While he stays on top of this look by shaving it when it needs to, that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t have any hair underneath. This hair was revealed on an episode of NBA on TNT, and the result was shocking to many of his fans. It’s not known what bet he lost to Dwayne Wade, but we have a feeling that he wasn’t too happy about it.

Many people took to social media during the show to make fun of Shaquille’s real — and receding — hairline, but there were others who congratulated him for showing the world what he really looked like.
